Look at this couple. See how happy they are in their first apartment, in the process of unpacking all of their things, and lying on their brand new couch? Their brand new, white couch. After weeks and weeks of nothing to sit on but those hard, green plastic chairs, that couch was so luxurious!

Ten years and three kids (two that were projectile vomiters) later....
What were they thinking?
**As I was going through some old pictures out in the garage the other day, I ran into that picture my cousin took of Mark and I the day we got our couch. In the five and a half years since the twins were born, I've wondered many times over why on earth we thought white was a good idea! Why?!

Ahhh, to be young and naive again. If only we had the power to see into the future. This is kind of like my idea, when I was 18, to get a tattoo on my hip. I knew I wanted kids in the future but thought that I had placed it far enough out that it wouldn't be smeared into an unrecognizable blob when I got pregnant. Now, I have only one kid and I didn't even gain that much weight during pregnancy and the tattoo is an unrecognizable blob!!
Your poor couch and carpet! Was this recently? I hope it all comes out.
Have a great weekend!!
No, the Sharpie marker on the couch incident happened when the twins were about 3, and Leah somehow found a Sharpie (though I have no idea where she scrounged it from). I think I had been upstairs in the bathroom for all of a few minutes, but that was the scene I walked in on after re-entering the living room. I was able to get the marker off the carpet, but that one sofa cushion will never be the same.
After working in a nursing home when I was 19, I pretty much decided getting inked was not going to be for me. Somehow I had this vision of some young kid 70 years down the road, looking at whatever tatoo I had chosen, and wondering, "What is it?" And, that was that. LOL
Ha! Good point, guess I should have thought of that! :)
this so completely amused me! I still have that salvation army couch that was projectile vomited out of the 70's and have decided not to update until the children are grown and left the house. Seeing, that I am barely 8 months pregnant with my first child...we have a very long way to go! I hope the couch survives!
(I had the couch when you were out to visit 6 years go...wow, that was a long time ago!)
