Pondering the Perfection of Peppermint Iced Tea (AKA: GOOP)

My blog friend, Rebecca, posted about this a few months ago, and I filed the idea away to try sometime this summer. Well, today was the day! Because what goes better with perfect peppermint iced tea on a pleasant summer day than SLIME!?

To make this you will need:
1/4 cup glue
1/4 cup water
a few drops of liquid food coloring

Mix above together.

In a separate container stir together:
1/4 cup borax
1 cup water

Add 1/4 cup of the borax water to the glue mixture, and stir. The more you play with it, the less liquid-y it becomes. Feel free to drain off any excess liquid.

We talked about the 3 states of matter, the properties of liquids vs. solids, as well as translucency and transparency.

We talked about mixing colors, primary colors, secondary colors, and what would happen if we combined 2 different colors of slime. (Eventually Elise's fusion of purple and lime green became gray, and Leah's pink and lime green became peach).

And, just like Rebecca said, it kept them busy for literally HOURS!

The reason we finally went inside? This little guy would not leave us alone, and his little wiggly bottom on my leg was kind of freaking me out (stings make me swell up like a parade float)!

The slime looks so cool. I think Marissa would love it, once she got over her sensory issues!! :)

That last picture of Leah reminds me of the poem . . . "There was a little girl, who had a little curl . . . "

Tee hee.
